

Clouds and blue skies are not common in Chengdu. Instead, we have a tarp of grey that blankets the city both day and night. The locals often say that on off days when the sun does find an opening through the grey, dogs gather and bark towards the sky in response to such an unfamiliar sight.
I took the photo below earlier this afternoon from my dorm room window. The buildings on the right, which actually aren’t that far in the distance, begin to fade under an aesthetically displeasing sky.


Luckily, the countryside still offers big fluffy clouds and beautiful blue skies.
